O mnie:
Hi there
Currently I live in a flat-share just a few minutes away from Canary Wharf. I moved here last April 2008 and I love it. Meanwhile I worked for one year at London City Airport, before getting the f*ck out of there: too much of a mess, unbearable staying longer.
In July 2006, I have got my bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Salerno, not far from Napoli. I’ve obtained the IFJ International Press Card, and because of that also a member of The International Federation of Journalists as a freelancer. Unfortunately it's not my main job yet, being quite tough to reach utter fluency in English within a year's time.
As I have a degree in Journalism I realise that it will be very difficult to proceed in this area as a career here in England. I am therefore interested in seeking an alternative career path in something that I will still enjoy as much. My goal is to find an office based or customer service role with room for progression so I could work my way up to a more senior position.
I am eager and enthusiastic about doing new things. I am a very sociable, resilient and purposeful person. I have a vivid imagination, therefore writing is one of my favourite hobbies apart from the fact that it used to be my profession, given that I was working as Journalist back in Italy. Generally speaking I believe that others have good intentions. I highly appreciate feeling of fidelity in others, and I can estimate friendship independently. I am respectful, kind and fair, and I keep away from liars, chavs and deceivers. I never hold a grudge against anyone. I make friends easily. Also I never shirk away from my "duties" or need a push to get started. I get chores done right away, I don't believe in putting off anything that is waiting to be done. I enjoy seeing long-term plans come to fruition. If I have a plan I stick to it. Because of my working background, I believe I am skilled in handling social situations. I sympathise with others’ feelings. Often I’m concerned about others.
I seldom feel blue or have little to say, as you've probably noticed lol. I rarely lose my composure.
I don’t just do enough to get by. I tend to do in life what I really enjoy.
I am also very enthusiastic about being able to help and contribute to a little human being's upbringing. I really enjoy meeting new people and going to new places.
I worked for five years as a freelance journalist (sports reporter and photoreporter) in several Italian newspapers. Since September 2006, I have been chairmanship in a Charity Voluntary Community (a kind of Welfare Association). Before I moved to UK, I was working as a social worker and personal care assistant to elderly and disabled people for Welfare Social Services, located in Sorrento (Italy). In my spare time, I am especially interested in cinema (above all, these particular genre movies: crime, legal thriller, mystery and noir), sport (soccer and rugby), art exhibitions and modern history. I enjoy broadening my mind. I also love reading: I am keen on criminology, communication approaches, psychology, sociology.
I am particularly fond of journalism, photography, computers, the Internet and last but not least, technology. And also, I like biking, strolling around London, outdoors, sightseeing and travelling.
I usually don’t smoke (just rarely) and I don’t take to drink alcohol very often (I prefer a cool and straight coke with ice and lemon, cedar and orange juice, honestly).
I like listening to music (from pop-rock, jazz, house to dance, blues and 80s music). I also bloody enjoy cooking and I'm a proper Italian foodie. Pizza and pasta are my favourite meals.
Well, concerning appearance, personally I don’t judge people by that. Appearances are deceitful. For me, the character is worth much more.
However, I’m seeking cool people to pal up with (no bloody Italians, please) and for hanging out. Never mind, we could break the barrier of time and distance and age is just a number...
Nevertheless, I like a balance in all. Of course, no-one can have all the boxes ticked, however I'm conscious of trying my best...
